Wow... this was a busy cake weekend. I did 2 birthday cakes (one for a 89 year young lady and one for my 92 year young grandma) and some baby shower cupcakes. The first birthday cake was chocolate cake with strawberry filling and Swiss meringue buttercream. The roses on top were piped with meringue and dried in a low oven. What could be better than a cake with cookies on top! The other birthday cake was carrot cake (the only cake that my grandma can understand people wanting) with cream cheese icing. The baby shower cupcakes were chocolate and vanilla with American buttercream. The theme of the shower was baseball, so I piped some baseball items in chocolate for the top of the cupcakes. I forgot to make a mirror image of the gloves though, so I piped all left-handed mitts! Hope you enjoy!
